bloom garden plan
FAQS
Have a question about the Bloom Garden Plan? We’ve got the answer
Before booking
What kind of garden is the Bloom Garden Plan best for?
The plan works best for small to medium gardens. Or for focusing on specific zones within a larger space. It’s ideal if you want expert design ideas, but not a full-scale landscaping project.
How is this different from a garden design service?
A full garden design service gives you detailed plans, scaled layouts and planting schemes and typically costs thousands (before you even start work on your garden).
The Bloom Garden Plan is something different. You won’t receive a finished design, but you will get expert advice, creative direction and fresh ideas for your garden.
Think of it as your design starting point: a one-to-one conversation with a professional garden designer who helps you explore ideas, refine your style and understand what’s possible.
You’ll come away with a clearer sense of direction, practical next steps and the confidence to make changes that feel right for you.
What if my garden is just a blank space or new build?
No problem. A blank slate means endless potential. Your designer will help you imagine what’s possible and give you advice that turns an empty plot into a garden that feels loved.
I rent my property – is it still worth getting a plan?
Yes. We can focus on moveable, low-cost ideas. Think pots, screens, planters and layout tweaks that transform your outdoor space without long-term changes.
Will my expert visit my garden in person?
All consultations take place online via video call. All calls are hosted on Google Meet. You don’t need a Google account, simply click on the link in your calendar invite to access the call. You’ll still get personalised advice, visual ideas and follow-up materials to guide your next steps.
Do I need to prepare anything before my consultation?
You’ll be sent a pre-call questionnaire (after booking) for you to share your challenges and more information. We’ll also ask for clear photographs of your garden (you can also submit a video).
The more you can share about how you use your space, what you’d love it to become and the specific challenges you have, the better your designer can tailor their ideas.
You must complete and return the questionnaire before your consultation. If you do not, your expert will need to use part of your session to gather this information reducing the quality of the service. See terms of service.
If you have detailed measurements or a topographical survey or garden plan, even better. But simply providing a rough idea of size, layout and the details of specific areas you’d like to discuss will go a long way to directing the conversation.
What if my wifi connection is poor?
You must have a reliable internet connection for the virtual consultation. Please ensure this is possible before booking your call. See our terms of service.
I’m not based in the UK, can I still book?
Unfortunately, at this time, the Bloom Garden Plan is for UK-based customers only.
The 1-to-1 design call
What will we cover in the hour?
We’ll start by exploring your garden challenges and goals, then move onto creative ideas, layout suggestions and specific recommendations. You’ll finish the call with clarity and plenty of inspiration.
Can we talk about materials, colours and planting ideas too?
Absolutely. Think of this as a creative brainstorm. Your designer can help with planting, hard landscaping, colours and mood. Feel free to focus on the things that are important to you.
I have no design experience – will it still make sense?
Yes. Your expert will guide you through everything step by step, in clear, practical language. You don’t need to know design terms – just bring curiosity and an open mind.
Is there anything the call doesn’t cover?
The Bloom Garden Plan gives you creative direction, not detailed design drawings. Unlike a face-to-face consultation, we won’t have precise information about your garden’s measurements, levels or geology.
Instead, your expert will focus on helping you see the potential of your space – offering ideas, inspiration and next steps you can take yourself.
Can I take my device into the garden?
We understand you may wish to take your phone, tablet or laptop into the garden to show your designer the garden. However, we advise it’s best not to do this due to wifi connection issues and the time it takes to give the designer a tour.
In your pre-call questionnaire, you have the chance to share videos and photos of your garden. Feel free to upload a brief tour there.
You must have a reliable internet connection for the virtual consultation. See terms of service.
Do I need to download any video software to join the call?
No. All calls are hosted on Google Meet. You don’t need a Google account. Simply click on the link in your calendar invite to access the call via your browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome etc).
Can I reschedule my call once I’ve booked it?
Yes. While we hope you can stick to the date and time you booked, we know that life doesn’t always go to plan.
You can reschedule up to 24 hours before the call. In your call booking confirmation, you’ll find a link to reschedule. If you need further help, email us as soon as possible: hello@bloomgardens.co.
What happens if I miss my call?
You may reschedule your consultation with at least 24 hours’ notice (see question above).
If you’re unable to make the call due to a last minute emergency, please get in touch with us. We may not be able to honour your booking, but we will do our best to accommodate your request. See terms of service.

The follow up Garden Plan
What happens after the call?
We want you to have a record of the ideas discussed and a more visual guide to help you on your gardening journey.
So you’ll receive a personalised Garden Plan – a document featuring moodboards, materials suggestions and planting ideas tailored to your garden and what was discussed on your call.
Give us 10 working days to create this for you. And look out for it in your inbox!
How long does it take to get my Garden Plan?
Your completed plan will arrive by email within two weeks (10 working days) of your consultation.
Will my plan include advice on garden furniture or styling?
Yes, where relevant. Your designer may include ideas for pots, seating, lighting and other finishing touches that bring your space together. Be sure to ask for support on a specific topic if you’d like to receive more detailed information on it.
Can the Bloom expert recommend landscapers or contractors?
We don’t provide installation services directly or recommend specific contractors. If you’re stuck on the kind of contractor you need, your designer can help to clarify who you should be looking for and what to expect from them.
